A music taste quiz that starts with your playlist

A Music Taste Quiz asks a different question from an audio guessing round: which of these two recordings is really in your playlist? Give GuessSong a public Spotify playlist, choose the number of questions, and send the resulting link to friends. They can answer when they have a moment, without everyone joining a live room. The board compares their results so you can see who recognized your choices.

Make your Spotify playlist test

Use the form above to paste a public playlist link. Add your name if you want the invitation to identify whose taste is being tested. Choose between ten and fifty questions, then create the quiz. The service needs a usable playlist with enough tracks and plausible alternatives. If the link is private, restricted or temporarily unavailable, the form reports the problem rather than creating an empty quiz.

Choose a playlist that reflects what you actually enjoy. A tightly themed list gives friends a different task from a collection that jumps between genres. The quiz tests knowledge of the specific tracks in that list, so it is not a psychological assessment and it does not measure the quality of anyone’s taste. A surprising wrong answer is part of the conversation, not a judgment about the listener.

Share one link and let friends answer

Once the quiz is ready, copy its short link, show the QR code, or use the available sharing controls. A friend opens the link in a browser and chooses between two titles at each question. One track belongs to your playlist; the other is selected as a plausible alternative. They get feedback as they go and a result after finishing. No dedicated app or Spotify account connection is required.

The link remains available for one week, and up to fifty friends can appear on its leaderboard. Send it to a small group first if you want to compare results with people who know you well. You can also share it with a wider circle, but remember that a shareable link can be forwarded. Avoid putting private information in the display name or in any message you attach to it.

Find your quizzes and read the results

My quizzes lists the quizzes created on this browser. Open it on the device you used to make the link to revisit the owner view. There is no account to restore ownership on another device: the browser’s saved token is what identifies the creator. Clearing browser storage can remove that access, so keep using the same browser when you want to review the detailed results.

The leaderboard shows how friends compared, while the owner view can reveal which choices were recognized and which caused trouble. Treat a close score as an invitation to exchange recommendations. Someone may know your favorite artist but choose a different album track, or recognize your newer listening habits better than an old friend. The playlist gives those differences a concrete starting point.

Choose the right game for the moment

Use the taste quiz when people are answering at different times. For a group listening through one speaker, host the multiplayer Spotify game instead: the host plays previews and awards points. For a personal listening challenge with no preparation, try the 0.1-second player or the daily puzzle. These modes share a music theme but use different questions, so their scores should not be compared as if they were the same test.

Frequently asked questions

Is the music taste quiz free?

Yes. Creating a quiz and answering a friend’s link do not require a login or an app.

Where do the other choices come from?

The alternatives are real tracks outside your playlist, chosen to be plausible beside your music. The result checks membership in the playlist used for this quiz.

How long can friends use my link?

The quiz lasts one week, with up to fifty friends on its leaderboard.

How do I see the quizzes I made?

Open My quizzes on the same browser and device you used to create them. The saved browser token provides access to the creator’s view.
