Free 0.1-Second Song Guessing Game

Guess the song from just 0.1 seconds of music. Search for the track and name it in five tries, with longer clips after each miss. Play free on mobile or desktop, without signing up. Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard for a mix of songs, or try the daily challenge for a shared puzzle that changes every day at midnight UTC. To host friends with your own favorites, open the Spotify playlist game.

How to Play the 0.1-Second Song Guessing Game

  1. Start with a tiny audio clue

Each round begins with a 0.1-second clip. Focus on a distinctive drum hit, a keyboard sound, or the beginning of a vocal. You can replay the unlocked clip before making a decision; replaying does not use a guess.

  2. Search and select your answer

Type the title you remember or an artist into the search box. Choose the matching track from the suggestions, then press Guess. Selecting a result matters: a typed title on its own is not a submitted answer. Keyboard users can move through suggestions with the arrow keys and select with Enter.

  3. Unlock more when you need it

A wrong answer or a skip uses one of your five chances and unlocks the next clip length: 0.1, 0.5, 2, 5, then 15 seconds. Guess correctly to reveal the song, artist, and available artwork. When the round ends, the player unlocks up to 30 seconds of preview audio. Hosting friends instead? See our guess the song game rules for scoring a shared round.

Game Modes & Difficulty Levels

Easy, Medium, and Hard

The standard mixes each contain up to ten playable tracks, with a fresh set of five attempts for every track. Easy is the starting point; Medium and Hard offer alternative selections when you want a different challenge. Use a mix for a quick break, or keep playing through the set. Switching a difficulty tab starts that mode rather than changing the song halfway through a guess.

Daily song puzzle

Daily challenge gives everyone the same song for that UTC date. It changes at midnight UTC, rather than at your local midnight. Finish the round to submit an optional display name and result to the daily leaderboard. The board shows up to fifty entries; your name and score become public only when you choose to post them.

Play your own playlist with friends

For a shared music quiz, Multiplayer Spotify opens the hosted game setup. That page keeps the original Spotify playlist setup: add a public playlist, choose players and settings, and host a shared music quiz. It is also the place for mixed playlists and phone buzzers. The solo difficulty tabs and daily challenge stay right here.

How to guess the song from a tiny clip

You do not have to identify every instrument to name a tune. Start with whatever feels distinctive: the rhythm, production style, voice, or a phrase you can almost remember. If you have an artist in mind, searching their name can help you find the right title among the suggestions. A familiar voice can be a better clue than the first instrument you hear. Check both the song and artist before submitting, especially when different recordings share a title.

A skip can be a useful choice when the first sound gives you nothing to work with. It costs the same chance as a wrong answer, but moves you directly to a longer clip. If you recognize something, replay the current clip first. Headphones can make quiet details easier to hear, and the volume control lets you adjust the preview without leaving the game.

Invite a friend to guess the song

A listening challenge is easy to pass around: Challenge a friend copies a link with the same song order, while each person plays independently. After a round, copy the colored result squares or save a result image. My stats records completed rounds, win rate, and average guesses on this device. Those personal records are separate from the optional daily leaderboard, so a private practice round does not automatically become a public score. For a remote group session, read our music quiz over video call guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this guess the song game free?

The solo game is free to play in your browser. You do not need to register, connect a Spotify account, or install an app to use the curated mixes and daily challenge. You do need an internet connection to load songs and search results.

How many chances do I get to guess the song?

You get five chances for each track. After five misses, the round ends and the song is revealed. You can listen to the available longer preview, view or share your result, and continue to the next song in the mix. A correct guess ends the round early. Each song starts with a fresh set of five chances.

Can I guess song titles from a Spotify playlist?

Yes. Choose Multiplayer Spotify to open the multiplayer Spotify game setup. Use a public playlist link and follow the options there. Private playlists cannot be read, and some public or Spotify editorial playlists may also be unavailable.

Why can’t I hear a song preview or load search results?

The game depends on third-party music search and preview services. Availability can vary by track, region, and service status. Retry a failed preview or try another mode when a set cannot load. The audio is a short preview, not full-song streaming.

Are the songs translated when I switch languages?

English, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, and German change the solo game interface and instructions. Song titles, artist names, and artwork come from the music providers and keep their source information. Changing the page language does not create a different music catalog.
